Media Information Literacy

Knowledge can be created and disseminated in all forms and formats. Media and information increases everyday and it becomes so abundant that it can be found anywhere, anytime specially in the booming era of data and information explosion. Becoming media and information literate individuals will test our patience on how we deal with information.

Definition

Media and Information Literacy (MIL) is a “combination of knowledge, attitudes, skills, and practices required to access, analyse, evaluate, use, produce, and communicate information and knowledge in creative, legal and ethical ways that respect human rights” (Moscow Declaration on Media and Information Literacy, 2012).
